  • Why the name Hide and Seek Ministries?
It's Satan's goal to hinder, hide and cover up the truth. He is the father of lies and deceitfulness. As a result of his efforts and the freedom for all of us to make our own choices, the Gospel is hidden to some because they refuse to accept Jesus. "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV) In Christ are "hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3 NKJV). This wisdom and knowledge...this truth...shall make you free (John 8:32). But the reason it is hidden is because it is only available to those who are followers of Christ. As His followers, we are in Him (2 Cor. 5:17) and He is in us (Rom. 8:9 and 1 John 4:15). We have this wisdom and knowledge available to us. However, we do not automatically receive it by simply saying a prayer to get to heaven. You must intentionally seek the Lord with all your heart (Jer. 29:13) and search for it as if searching for a hidden treasure (Prov. 2:4). If you seek you will find (Matthew 7:7). “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32 NKJV Through the ministry of discipleship, Hide and Seek Ministries helps the next generation seek the Lord, find the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge in His Word, and develop their own personal relationship with Him.
  • Why does God allow bad things to happen?
When God made everything He made it to be perfect. He did not make sin. Adam and Eve were the first people that God made. He put them in a special garden called the Garden of Eden and had them take care of it. God gave them only one rule to follow. He said they can eat from any tree in the garden except for one called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If they did eat from that tree they would die. Adam and Eve followed this rule until a serpent showed up. The serpent started talking to Eve. He asked her questions, twisted God's words, and told her lies. He changed her way of thinking. Eve decided to eat from the tree that God told her not to, and Adam chose to do the same. At that moment sin entered the world. Sin separates us from God and is the cause of the bad things in this world. Sin is passed down to every person born. God created the world to be perfect, and it was perfect for a time. But sin changed the world. There are still good things in this world, but there are also bad. Many people say that bad things are God’s fault. They think if something happens it is because God wanted it to. They say He sometimes causes things to happen to teach us a lesson. God causes things to work out for the good of those who love Him, but He is not the cause of the bad things.
  • Why did God create Satan?
God did not create Satan but created Lucifer as an angel (Isaiah 14:12). The Bible describes Lucifer as being full of wisdom and beauty. He was covered with every kind of precious stone, and he had a place of authority among the angels (Ezekiel 28:12-19). However, the Bible says that Lucifer fell into pride and became jealous of God. Lucifer sinned and God threw him out of heaven (Ezekiel 28:16). He was no longer an angel and is now Satan.
  • How can I be sure that I am going to heaven?
Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Do you believe God sent Jesus to earth so He could die on the cross and take away our sins? Do you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and Jesus is now in Heaven? If you really believe this in your heart, then say a prayer to God. Tell Him you believe these things and tell Him you want to receive His forgiveness for your sins. When you really believe this and you say it with your mouth, then you are saved! You can be sure that you will go to Heaven. We do not get to Heaven by doing good things. However, obeying God is proof that we are saved. We will want to obey because we truly love Jesus and want to follow him. God gave us salvation (being rescued from our sins) as a free gift. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10) Visit the 'Jesus' page on this website to learn more.
  • What happens to me after I believe in Jesus?
The answer to this question is easier to understand when you know who you are. Every person has three parts: a body, soul, and spirit. Your body is what you see when you look in the mirror. You can see, feel, and touch your body. Your soul includes your thoughts, feelings, and choices. Even though you can't see your soul, you can feel it (like when your feelings are hurt). Your spirit is the part of you that you cannot see or feel. When you believe in Jesus the Bible says you are made a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). God's Spirit comes to live inside you. Your spirit is made perfect just like Jesus is perfect. All your sin in your spirit is completely wiped away as if it never happened. And no matter what you do, your spirit remains perfect. In fact, it is so perfect that when you go to Heaven you will not need a new one. You will have the exact same spirit that you do now. However, your body and soul are not made perfect. This is why we still sin after we are saved. When we go to Heaven we will keep the same spirit but will get a perfect body and soul.
  • Is God really three different Gods?
He is one God as three persons: 1. God the Father, 2. God the Son (Jesus), 3. God the Holy Spirit. This can be hard to think about but it's true! God as three persons is often called the Trinity or the Godhead. Jesus is the Son of God, and He is also God. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, and He is also God. Just as God has always been alive, so has Jesus and the Holy Spirit. However, there is still only one God; one God as three persons.
